My Approach

As much as we’ve all heard the phrase, “every day brings a new start,” incorporating it into our own lives often isn’t so simple. At New Morning Mercies Counseling, I strive to help clients feel encouraged to take on each day with a fresh perspective, beginning in the comfort of an accepting, non-judgmental space.

In each session, I collaborate with clients to achieve their therapeutic goals. I believe clients know themselves best, so we work together on the client’s concerns, leading to new ways of seeing or thinking about situations, feelings, people, and behavior.

I incorporate several modalities into my therapeutic approach, such as Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and solution-focused therapy.

In addition to following several types of talk therapy, I employ a holistic, whole-person approach in my counseling. Humans are composed of a variety of complex components, including physicality, emotions, spirituality, mentality, and more. As a therapist, I consider these aspects when working alongside clients to help them find healing and improve their overall well-being.

Mission & Values

Through compassion and a safe environment, the sky is the limit for therapeutic collaboration resulting in deeper connection, growth and sustainable healing.

Compassion

With an open door and an open heart, New Morning Mercies Counseling meets clients where they are at. Approaching each session with kindness, respect, and sensitivity fosters connection between therapist and client, allowing us to work together to understand the complexities of past experiences and emotions and embark on a chapter of healing.

Empathy

Although all of our journeys are unique, at New Morning Mercies Counseling, you are not alone in the struggles you may face. I enter each session with an open mind, striving to truly understand clients, their feelings, and experiences by seeing situations from varying perspectives. By approaching sessions empathetically, we enhance therapist-client communication and prepare for greater success outside of the office.

Safety

Every kind of therapy includes a degree of vulnerability, which can seem scary for some. After all, therapy offers you the freedom to share whatever is weighing on your heart — the good, the bad, and the uncomfortable. An accepting, trustworthy, and non-judgmental environment is essential to ensuring clients feel safe to discuss their concerns, and New Morning Mercies Counseling is committed to providing that space.
