Life Transitions

Change is a fact of life. Sometimes, we label those changes as largely positive and embrace them full force, like going to college, moving to a new city, or adding a child to the family. Other times, transitions can be unexpected and painful, such as losing a loved one, encountering family conflict, or divorcing from a spouse. 

 

Put simply, life transitions are any changes that affect your life in a significant way. Regardless of the situation, they can be difficult to experience and adjust to, as they can bring varying amounts of stress and anxiety. 

 

Therapy provides a safe space to explore your feelings about a transition in your life and learn coping skills. During therapy for life transitions, clients and I work to recognize both the challenges and opportunities that accompany the major change, equipping them to navigate transitions with both awareness and resilience.
